Job Summary:
The STEM Teacher will be a proven champion of STEM education for girls who will contribute to and strengthen Foxcroft’s STEM program. With the recent opening of our new 18,000-square-foot Mars STEAM Building (Jan. 2026). Foxcroft now has a state-of-the-art STEAM facility with cutting-edge teaching materials.
The STEM teacher will be prepared to teach various levels of high school mathematics, including AP-level courses, and will value an approach that builds conceptual understanding and confidence in learning math. Background and/or experience teaching in another STEM discipline is highly preferred. Candidates should bring energy, enthusiasm, and strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a demonstrated understanding of the developmental needs of adolescent girls. They should also be well-versed in inclusive instructional strategies that support girls and underrepresented student populations in the STEM fields. A Foxcroft teacher embraces the Portrait of an Educator by maintaining a student-centered philosophy, committing to lifelong learning, utilizing dynamic teaching strategies, and implementing effective classroom practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct 5 sections of mathematics
Integrate technology to support effective teaching and learning.
Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
Emphasize mastery-oriented learning and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery.
Align curriculum with departmental goals and school-wide learning outcomes, including the Portrait of an Educator and Portrait of a Graduate.
Work collaboratively with STEAM faculty in mentoring STEM concentration students, developing the annual STEAM competition, and other STEAM-related activities.
Key Residential Responsibilities:
In an effort to know our students and colleagues as individuals and to build a positive community, members of the faculty are expected to participate in the life of the school outside their instructional responsibilities. A strong commitment to the residential student experience is
expected, including advising, weekday and weekend dorm duty, and involvement in
extracurricular activities. The ability to coach sports is an asset.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. A Master’s in Mathematics, Education, or related field and/or related experience is strongly preferred.
Classroom teaching experience in math.
Experience with STEM education and with technology integration in the classroom, including but not limited to using TI-84 calculator, Geometer's sketchpad, and Excel.
Experience working with diverse populations of students in the STEM fields.
Demonstrated engagement in student life outside the classroom and desire to support the diverse histories, experiences and identities of each member of our community. (For more information on Foxcroft’s DEI goals visit the website).
Strong history of collaboration and teamwork with colleagues and the ability to build relationships with multiple constituencies including students, parents, alumnae and the greater community.

While performing the duties of this position an incumbent is required to regularly remain sedentary for long periods of time in meetings and while processing information and paper work both manually and on a computer.
The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to reach and hands to type and manipulate a computer keyboard and mouse. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person. The employee is regularly required to listen, physically direct, and speak.
Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and climb stairs while moving about campus, as well as bend and stoop. Work hours may vary and include days, nights, and weekends. Employees may be required to drive a vehicle for student needs and/or on School business. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet; however, variations in noise level may occur when the employee attends school functions such as assemblies, school dances, and other events.
