Location: Oakville, Ontario (on-site) Type: Full-time contract ending June 2026 Salary Range: $36,000.00 - $42,000.00 (based on 10 months) - dependent on accommodations

We are seeking an enthusiastic Associate Teacher to join Appleby College. This role offers a unique opportunity to explore the education field, gain practical experience, and receive mentorship to support your development as an educator. HOW YOU WILL THRIVE: As an Associate Teacher, you will gain hands-on experience by observing and working alongside experienced lead teachers. You will assist with classroom instruction, provide tutoring, and support co-curricular activities, clubs, outdoor education, wellness programs and other initiatives. In addition, you will receive tailored coaching to enhance your teaching skills and deepen your understanding of education
HOW YOU WILL SUCCEED:
Support classroom instruction and take on up to two full-credit courses, either individually or in a team setting
Participate in the Advisory program, either as an observer or co-advisor, with the possibility of advising a group of students
Provide substitute teaching coverage on a regular basis and provide one-on-one tutoring and small group support to students as needed
Engage in the co-curricular program and participate in clubs for three consecutive terms
Support student life and boarding programs, as needed
Gain hands-on experience by observing and learning from lead teachers and co-teaching when possible
Develop teaching skills by planning and delivering lessons under the guidance of experienced teachers
Enhance your teaching practice by engaging with technology in the classroom
Participate in school events and faculty professional development days
Collaborate in curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide events
WHAT YOU BRING:
B.Ed. is preferred
OCT qualification is an asset
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team of faculty and staff
A strong desire to inspire and support students both inside and outside the classroom
Self-motivation, a team-oriented attitude, and a sense of responsibility
A reflective mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
